The third season of exploration at Piruzi

From 30. April to 07. May 2016 the third reserch campaign on Piruzi rocks near Rovinj has been completed. The study is part of the multi-year project "Rovinj shipwrecks", carried out in cooperation with the Tourist board of City of Rovinj. The objective is to explore and to popularize the oldest maritime heritage of Rovinj. Research of Late Roman shipwreck at Piruzi is only one of a number of sites that will be investigated. The project involves the members of the German Association "Bavarian Society for Underwater Archaeology".
